Hi! I’m Jordan Rhodes,
An artist based in Providence, Rhode Island who loves to create images through expressive and improvisational application of color.
As long as I can remember, art has been something that always captured my attention. From scribbling in the margins of my school assignments to creating my own comics as a kid, art has been my life long companion. But over the years I took a few detours in my journey, one of which culminated in a PhD in chemistry. No matter how far I strayed from art throughout the years it always found its way back into my life, and this time it is here to stay. During my time in graduate school, I began sharing my work on Instagram @jmr_art as a way to wind down and relax after working in the lab all day. With no particular expectations, I was pleasantly surprised to find more and more people seemed to enjoy my artwork. I am eternally grateful for all the kind words and encouragement over the years from the wonderful online art community and all the cool opportunities that came as a result.
It's never too late to reconnect with your love for art or pick it up for the first time. You never know what opportunities can come just from pursuing your interests and putting yourself out there! It would be my honor to help anyone along in their own journey.
